Notice of Changes to Social Insurance Premium Rates (FY2026)

We would like to inform you of the changes to social insurance premium rates for Fiscal Year 2026 (Reiwa 8).
Please note that:
- Health Insurance, Employees’ Pension Insurance, and Long-term Care Insurance will be applied from March (reflected in April payroll)
- Employment Insurance changes and the Child & Childcare Support Contribution will be applied from April (reflected in May payroll)
Please review the details below.
1. Health Insurance (Mie Prefecture – Japan Health Insurance Association) Effective from March
- FY2025: 9.99%
- FY2026: 9.77%
The health insurance premium rate has been slightly reduced.
2. Employees’ Pension Insurance Effective from March
- FY2025: 18.30%
- FY2026: 18.30%
There is no change to the employees’ pension insurance premium rate.
3. Long-term Care Insurance (for ages 40–64) Effective from March
- FY2025: 1.59%
- FY2026: 1.62%
The long-term care insurance premium rate has slightly increased.
4. Employment Insurance (Employee Contribution) Effective from April
- FY2025: 0.60%
- FY2026: 0.50%
The employment insurance premium rate has been slightly reduced.
5. Child and Childcare Support Contribution (New) Effective from April
- FY2026: 0.23% (shared between employer and employee)
A new contribution will be introduced to support child and childcare policies.
The employee’s actual burden will be approximately 0.115%, which is estimated to be up to around 500 yen per month, depending on salary.
6. Overall Impact
Taking all changes into account:
- Some premiums will decrease (health insurance, employment insurance)
- Some premiums will increase (long-term care insurance, new childcare contribution)
Overall, the total amount deducted from your salary is expected to remain almost the same as the previous year.
